Hi, I’m Kari, creator of Keep it Simple, DIY. I’m a lifestyle blogger with an MBA who blogs about finance, Home & DIY, blogging, and more. My main motto is that if you just try, you will succeed. The key is to Keep it Simple.

We all aspire to live a life full of luxury, but not all of us can afford it. However, you don’t have to give up luxury just because you have a tight budget. Today, luxe is not all about the price tag anymore, but rather about the impression an item leaves no matter how much it costs. So, if you want to luxe-up your home and not blow all your savings     , here are some budget-friendly ways you can do that.

Stay neutral – make a statement

There’s a little paradox in interior design: the strongest impressions are created with neutral colors, not bright ones. If you have a space filled with all sorts of neon and screaming colors, there’s no way to achieve a good focal point. Too many different colors all compete for our attention, and we can’t concentrate on one main point. So, if you want your focal point to stand out, as it should, turn to neutral, natural and bright hues.

Cozy is finally in

If you often dig through fashion blogs and interior design magazines, you can see that more and more experts aim to combine comfort and aesthetics. Luxury items might seem uptight, but in order to actually be called luxe, they have to be inviting. Things no one wants in their home can hardly be called luxe. So, don’t be afraid to invest in some comfort. Take advantage of this new super-cozy trend and make your home a true sanctuary.

Light is in the House: Makeup and shake up

If you want to shake things up a bit in your classy and elegant space, the best way to do so is with lighting and window treatments. These interesting details are like a final touch of a makeup brush. If you want to introduce an elegant statement piece into your home, you won’t go wrong with a big and luxe chandelier. It will add a ‘wow’ effect to your space and provide your home with ample light, which will also make it seem more luxurious.

Eyes are the window to the soul, and windows are the eyes of the house. You definitely must add some eyeshadow and mascara to those windows. Here, you can easily stay on budget with a bit of DIY curtain-making. However, like with all makeup, you shouldn’t overdo making up your home, otherwise, it might end up looking tacky rather than luxe.

Green it up

Greenery makes every space look thought-out and elegant and it’s an especially good way to luxe-up your home for little money. Embrace the earthy style and introduce greenery into your home.

Most indoor plants don’t require a lot of care, but they give plenty in return.

Keep your outdoors IN

If you want to have a luxe home, you can’t neglect your outdoor space. Install a romantic fire pit, an elegant pergola or get some classy lounge chairs for ultimate relaxation. However, if you want to go all out on your outdoor space, the ultimate luxe addition to your home is definitely a pool. Make it cozy during the day and shiny and elegant during the night. Even if it might seem so, the pool doesn’t have to be a huge expense. A pool (even a small plunge pool) can look super luxe with a few key pool supplies and some good lighting. So, treat yourself to a luxury spa experience in your own private pool. It’s a great place for elegant night parties, romantic dinners for two and ultimate relaxation after a long day at work.

As you can see, you don’t have to be a millionaire to experience luxury on a daily basis. Actually, you can live your luxury life right from the comfort of your home without breaking the bank.
