This is one of my favorite recipes! I’m such a fan of homemade dough products and donut holes are such a great way to start the morning.
Here’s the recipe I use:
If I’m feeling really fancy, I use a cookie cutter to make donut shapes in the dough. Or even any shape the cookie cutter will make. They all turn out super cute. I have found that it works just fine though to role the dough out and then use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into small pieces. Nobody said they have to be round and this is so quick!
I prefer to have granulated sugar on my donuts but I’ve used powdered sugar, white icing, and chocolate icing before. Use what you prefer but get it ready before you start frying.
Pop them into the fryer in small batches. Make sure to flip them over before they get too far along or you won’t be able to flip them.
Yum! I rolled them in the sugar and they are delicious!
For even more fun, I get dessert sauce and squeeze it into the donut holes before popping them in my mouth. So satisfying! (*Affiliate link: you can find the dessert sauce here. It comes in many different flavors)
