Today is a very special blog post.  This is the CASH FOR CHRISTMAS giveaway!  More information on the giveaway can be found below.

But first, let me tell you about my Christmas Treeditions!  Yes, you read that right.  My Tree-traditions.

When I Put Up the Tree/s

Putting up the Christmas tree is a great way to get in the the Holiday Spirit!  I have always put up the Christmas tree during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Sometimes, even on Thanksgiving day.  It is such a great way to use those days to be thankful for your family and to spend quality time with them.  Since everyone is for the most part already off from work, these days make the perfect time for my family to put up the tree.

Decorations

This part of my Christmas Tree experience is completely different every year.  Growing up, we had some homemade ornaments and some store bought ornaments.  Since being an adult, I usually just go with something trendy.  Either way, this is where a little big of creativity gets to come out.

Not only do we decorate the tree at this time, but the whole house and the lights outside.  I even put lights outside and a small tree up when I was living in an apartments at Christmas time.  Now that was a bit different because not many people had Christmas lights on their balcony’s.  It just makes the time feel even more happy to me though.

Tree/s?

Did you notice I put an ‘s’ after tree?  Yes, I often put up more than one tree.  Growing up, we always had our main tree and then I liked to put my little tree in our loft.  I kept that tradition going when I bought my first house.  Year two in my first house was my first year with cats though and both trees ended up on the floor.  I have since figured out a way to keep the trees upright!  (We just bought a different type of tree).

Now that we are in the new house, we were trying to find the best place for the big tree.  We of course want to see the tree all the time so the family room made the perfect location.  But, we have a window in the office at the front of the house too.  And I love when we drive around looking at everyone’s Christmas lights and they have their tree lit in their front window.  So, this year, we are putting a big tree up there too!

When I Take Down the Tree

I am definitely someone who likes change and likes everything new, clean, and fresh.  So of course, I take the decorations down as soon as Christmas is over that way I can bring in the new year with a clean slate.
