Do your spices fall out of the cabinet when you open it? Or do you have to take all of the spices out just to find the one you are looking for? I had both of these problems in my last home. For my new home, I’ve decided I’m not going to stumble through my spices anymore.
I bought these cute little jars to organize all of my spices. They fit perfectly in the drawer near my stove. Now, I just pull out the drawer and grab the spice I need.
What about the top?
Yes, I was concerned about not having the shaker top. At first it was a little weird to use the spices but now I love it. I just too it’s and shake a bit. With shaker tops I had to shake and shake and shake and sometimes enough still wouldn’t come out.
These also make it easier to use measuring spoons. Being able to just scoop instead of having to remove a lid makes these jars very convenient.Reclaim your spice cabinet by making your own DIY spice jars. Click To Tweet
Now that I’ve talked all about these jars, on to the How To.
As you most likely guessed, this is one of the most simple how-to’s ever.
- 1. Find cute little airtight jars.
- 2. Gather all your spices.
- 3. Transfer spices into jars
- 4. Take lots of pictures of your cute new spice jars.
One helpful too is to put some paper towels down before you transfer spices. This is especially important if you have spices that can stain your counters.

These are so cute! Such a fun way to organize the kitchen!
I actually don’t like the shaker tops! When baking I need to measure everything so these would work really well.
