Good morning everyone! Today I’m tackling our sink full of dishes early in the morning after a pretty difficult week. Our little kitten had to have emergency surgery, so we’ve been watching him really intensely and monitoring his every move, which meant the dishes (and honestly the whole house) just piled up. The kitten actually woke me up about an hour earlier than I needed to be up this morning, so I decided to use that time to get the kitchen clean. I wasn’t planning on cleaning based on my outfit choice, but I’m going for it anyway! I was really happy the dishwasher was empty so I could just load it without having to put dishes away first. You’ll see me struggling a bit with cleaning my silicone cupcake molds – I love using those for the quick muffin mixes in my air fryer for a sweet morning or evening treat, but they looked like they weren’t getting clean no matter how many times I washed them. I eventually tried using a nail brush to clean them which worked better. If you have tips for cleaning silicone molds, please let me know! This video is just me working through the dishes with some motivational music to keep the energy up on this early morning cleaning session.

Good morning everyone. I am Kari at Keep It Simple DIY. I’m so happy that you clicked on this video. I am going to start cleaning my dishes because our sink is pretty much full, so let’s get this morning looking a little cleaner.
All right, welcome to this early morning with me. As you can see, it’s extremely early. Well, not extremely like dark, but the sun is shining in and giving it a fuzzy texture. It looks like, sorry about that. Maybe I’ll film my videos a little later in the day or close the blinds next time. But I’m so glad that you’re here with me on this day.
I’m just going through the dishes and it seems like the dishes just keep piling up. Do you feel like that? I feel like as many times as I do the dishes, there’s just tons of dishes. And I realized I was talking over myself in the video a little bit ago, and what I was saying was that I was happy that the dishwasher was empty that morning so I didn’t have to also put dishes away. I was just able to fill the dishwasher.
This is coming off of a pretty hard week. We had our little kitten had to have emergency surgery, so we had to be watching the cat pretty intensely and like watching his every move. So our dishes just piled up. Not that they don’t usually, but in this situation, like not only are the dishes piled up, but our living room’s piled up and the whole house is just a little bit of a mess. And so this morning, clearly I was not planning on cleaning, judging by my outfit choice. But the kitten actually had me up about an hour earlier than I needed to be up, and I decided I should probably get the kitchen clean. So that’s what I’m doing. I’m just working on these dishes here.
And then in a little bit you’ll see me try to clean those silicone cupcake molds. I really love those cupcake molds for the quick muffin mixes that you can get from the store where it’s like mix in a half cup of water and then just use six muffins. I always use seven instead, but I put those in my air fryer. And so I find that that’s a super convenient way to have like a sweet morning treat or evening treat. We actually used them for, we use the muffins as cupcakes on my birthday because this was also my birthday weekend. Well, this was actually a week later, but we were still kind of cleaning up from my birthday weekend. It had been a minute since we really finished.
But I did clean those muffin liners and then they looked like they weren’t clean, so then I cleaned them again and they looked like they still weren’t clean. And so that was interesting. I’m not quite sure why I’m struggling so badly with that. And a little while later in this video you’ll see I start using a nail brush cleaner to clean them, and I think that’s worked a little bit better. But if you have any ways to clean those, let me know because what I was doing wasn’t working quite so well.
