Video Summary
Good morning! I’m Carrie from Keep It Simple DIY, and in this video, I’m taking you along on a peaceful Sunday morning cleaning routine. It’s Easter Sunday, and I’m the only one awake in the house. I start my morning by feeding my cats (Milo loves to hop into the cabinet during breakfast time!), and then I tackle some light cleaning around our kitchen and drop station area. The drop station had been messy for quite some time, so I declutter it by putting away winter boots, organizing jackets, and clearing off the counters. I also share a quick tip about a storage container that didn’t work out for my seed organization. It’s a simple, relaxing morning routine before heading out for the day, and I hope you enjoy this calm, real-life cleaning session with me and Milo!

Well, good morning everyone. This is Kari at Keep It Simple DIY. I am starting my morning off on this morning just like any other morning by getting my cats their morning breakfast. Every morning I do this, and every morning Milo goes into the cabinet while I get his breakfast. Today is a Sunday. It’s actually Easter Sunday, so I’m just getting some cleaning done before we go out for the day. At this time, I am the only one awake in the house, and I am just going to putter around our kitchen and bring you along with me.
Well, good morning everyone. It is bright and early. It’s not even 8:00 in the morning yet. It’s a Sunday. I have plans to clean a few things around the house and thought I’d take you with me. So I just cleaned my coffee pot area and got the cats their breakfast. I’m going to enjoy a little bit of my tea, and then I will clean our drop station.
My drop station has been quite a mess for quite some time, and I had all intentions of having this angle be towards the bench and showing you everything I do with the bench area, and then readjusting the camera so that you could see me clean off the counters. And I completely forgot to readjust the camera, so I did cut a portion of this video out so you didn’t just have to look at the bottom half of me for an extremely long time. But for now, what I’m doing is I’m bringing out all the trash. I’m going to be putting away all of the winter boots. It’s April here, and we still are planning to get some snow, especially coming up this weekend. But I don’t think I’m going to need such heavy snow boots unless for some reason it decides to dump a bunch of snow onto us. And if it does, I can just go get them out of the closet. I am leaving the winter jackets up though, that way we can use them over the next few days.
So now I am cleaning off the counter, and unfortunately you can’t see most of it. But you will see that I did put that tub over on top of the bench. I bought that tub to organize my seeds, and it actually is both too big and too small for what I was hoping. I was hoping for the container overall to be about two-thirds of that size, and then inside that container has eight compartments. But none of the compartments are the right size to fit my seed packets. They can fit one direction, but then it would just be messy, and I wanted them to fit like lengthwise. So I need to return that, but for now I’m just keeping it there.
I started to run the dishwasher, and then I realized I should probably put this cup in there. I also put my water bottle in there, and I did just dump the water into this one so I wasn’t wasting the water. Let’s see, it’s 8:25 right now. I’m the only one up in the house aside from the cats, of course. So it’s my time to run around, scramble, and get things done. I like to get things done when my husband’s either at work or sleeping because we don’t have a ton of time together, and I’d rather take any waking moment with him to spend with him. Here we go.
All right, that does it for today’s video. I hope you enjoyed cleaning with me. Milo and I would like to thank you for watching, and we will see you next time. Bye-bye!
