May 2017 Blog Income Report

This Month’s Top Post: Laundry Hack– August 2016– 429 Views

This Month’s Runner Up: April 2017 Blog Income Report  – 257 Views

Just like last month, I saw a decline in page views.  I’m still quite impressed with the amount of page views the blog had for my minimal effort.  I didn’t share my normal amount of pins on Pinterest and I didn’t share as much as I usually do on Facebook.

Last month I started getting requests to guest post on the blog which couldn’t have come at a better time!  I now have 4 guest posts either posted or scheduled. This shows me that the blog has hit a new high even if the stats have gone down a bit.

On the home front, we get to move into our house this week!  So, I’m going to be crazily organizing and setting up the house because in a little over three weeks Nick and I are getting married!  Crazy Summer.

I have definitely been missing the blog though.  I’m excited to cook in the new house and share my recipes.  I’m excited to share my new garden, and all of the decorating and such.  I’m going to continue posting on Tuesdays only through the end of July and hopefully will be able to pick back up with my regular blogging schedule in August.

Last month I talked about  behind behind on Tailwind.  Even after getting caught up, I am back to being behind.  I’ve decided that that’s okay and this summer I’m going to just do what I have the time to do.

I did not get all of the posts scheduled for the next two months but I am pretty close.  I have the four posts for June scheduled as I usually schedule a month in advance.  In July, I just need to do a house update and then the blog income report.  Hopefully in July after the honeymoon I will be able to get my normal posts ready for August.

Happy Summer!

This Month’s Runner Up: Say Goodbye to Living Paycheck to Paycheck: Building the Foundation  – 213 Views

Last month I posted about how crazy the month was with all of the showings.  Well, April was even crazier outside of the blog.  We closed on the house we are selling, started prepping for our wedding, and started moving some stuff over to my parent’s house where we have to stay for a week and a half this month before our house is ready.

This month I definitely saw the decline in growth in the blog stats.  But, I also started getting a lot more email traffic this month.  This month, Wayfair asked me to create a featured post for them.  Unfortunately, I had to decline because it just wasn’t possible to do what they wanted while my house is in moving disarray. I also had three people ask to guest post on my blog this month!  I’ve had quite a few ask before but nobody had ever actually written a post.  I now have two guest posts scheduled.  One for May and one for June.  Still waiting to see if the third will end up submitting a post.

Last month I mentioned being a bit behind on Tailwind.  I got caught up and am now back to being a bit behind of where I want to be.  As long as I can keep it afloat through the move I’ll be good though.

I also hoped to get all of the posts for the next two months scheduled but I’ve had very limited time to think about the blog.  So, I decided that I am going to alter my posting schedule for the next few months of Moving and Wedding events.  Instead of posting every Tuesday and Saturday, I will only be posting every Tuesday.  I will resume my regular schedule in August.

That’s all for this month!  Wish me luck for maintaining the blog in May during the temporary move!

March 2017 Blog Income Report

This Month’s Top Post: DIY Cinder Block Garden for Small Yards– 308 Views

This Month’s Runner Up: February 2017 Blog Income Report  – 281 Views

This month was absolutely crazy for me.  We had over 20 showings on the house and almost all of my free time outside of work was spent doing something for the house.  I did manage to get my April posts ready despite having a rough schedule.

Somehow, even though I wasn’t able to work much on the blog in March, I ended up with the most page-views I’ve had recently.  I’ve only ever had one higher month which was just a fluke where two of my posts stumbled over 1000 views in a day.  I also had quite a high month for income compared to normal.  I’ll take it!

Last month, my goal was to get all of the posts for April ready and get pins scheduled on Tailwind.  I’m almost there.  My posts are ready but I’m a bit behind on Tailwind.  Hopefully by the time this post goes live I will have it all scheduled.

I didn’t do anything to increase followers this month which is much different than usual.  Usually, I participate in a few threads to gain followers each month, but I just didn’t have time.  I”d like to be able to do this again next month since it appears that April will be a bit of a break: hopefully.

My goals for April, my birthday month, is to get all of the posts ready for May and June and participate in a few follow threads.  I want to get two months ahead because we will be moving in May or very early June and I know that packing will take up most of my free time.  If I can get the posts going then I can focus on packing and just maintaining the blog.  I am so ready for July where I can be back to normal.
