This month was a very crazy month for me so I took a bit of a break from the blog.  But, to my readers, you probably didn’t even notice!  In July I worked on my blog every day.  Yes, every single day.  Participating in Facebook groups, sharing on Pinterest, and creating posts.  August was not at all the same.  I was just a bit burnt out and needed a break.

I mentioned a while ago how I like to plan my blog posts and create them early which really helps when I run into ruts where I’m just exhausted and ready for a break.  I had actually created all of my posts for August during July that way I didn’t have to stress about creating posts when I didn’t really feel like it.  I’ve always used the blog as a hobby and a way to express myself and have fun so whenever I”m in the mood to write or edit or create graphics, I create as many as I can during that time.

Of course, since I wasn’t in the writing mood during August, Septembers posts are not all created.  i do have enough for one each week but I’ve been posting twice per week.  I’m not sure if I will try to create more posts to stick with my Tuesday and Saturday schedule yet or if I will just go for Saturdays this month.

In other news, I created my first LInquia campaign this month!  It was definitely a success!  I also figured out how to create a part of my Media Kit that I’ve been working on for over a month.  Now there is just one more part I’m stuck on and then it’s done!  Hopefully by the end of the year I will have it complete.  I’m really taking my time to make it perfect!

I also finalized my new 2017 blogging planner early this month!  Check it out!

2017 Blog Planner

This month, I saw a large decrease in Ad revenue which is directly related to the break I took from sharing my posts.  But, sponsored posts increased and brought me right back into my $100-$200 range that I’ve been in most of this year.

August 2016 Income Statement

Revenue
Ads – $86.67
Sponsored Posts – $60.00
Total: $146.67

Expenses

August 2016 Monthly Updates

This month’s big achievement is that I hit 500 Pinterest follower!

Last month I also mentioned that I had just started using Tailwind and I have seen a huge difference!  I started using Tailwind toward the end of July.

Here are my page-views that Pinterest referred over the last three months:

June: 153                  July: 239                  August: 658

I am so excited that I’m able to see growth even when I take a huge break from the blog!

For September, I plan to keep afloat.  I think August was a great break for me but I don’t want to over-do it.  Hopefully I will be able to figure out the last part of my Media Kit so I can make it go live too!  I can’t wait to show you!  Hopefully I will also be in the mood to work on Etsy downloadables.  I have a lot of great ideas!

  1. Although it was a little lower than last month, it’s still an impressive number. The fact that it was totally passive is something to be proud of.
I do love the feeling of having a few posts lined up. I hope you can get a balance so you don’t burn out as much. Keep it up!

  2. I love reading people’s blog income reports! It’s also awesome to see how much you’ve grown in a month- I need to start keeping track of my stats.

  3. I’ve always loved your posts! Every so often you need a break, I do agree. I’m working on starting to write posts as they come to me. I’d love to have a month done in advance incase life happens, as it usually does. 😀
